Today is the day that my daughter’s grade school decided to have slipper day. Check out the slippers that I picked up for her at Marshalls. I wish I was there to check out all the fun slippers. I hope all the kids stay safe as my worry was that someone would slip! Luckily these slipper had traction on the bottom. With the weather rainy and raw I think I will stay in my slippers while I work. Cute and different than pajama day!
I hope everyone has a safe and Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Black Friday Shopping!

I am not one to wear comfy shoes really. I love a good high heel and boots but let’s face it, there are times when comfy shoes really come in handy like running around doing errands and treks to the bus stop.
I had to try these cute little clogs from Fit Flop and they were on sale at Bliss. Everyone I encountered seems to like them. My friend was even going to purchase them too. Bliss calls them their trendy clog with muscle- toning. With the studs and shiny patent leather I was sold!
We have a new puppy in the house! I have been looking for at least a year for a non-shedding dog but the prices are crazy for a puppy! I was patient, looked around and I think timing had to be right. I know the price was right for us. We found a nice woman who was breeding cockapoos and just really liked dogs (i.e she was not in it for the money!) We met the parents of the puppies, met the siblings and you could tell they were well taken care of. Plus the next day we took them to the vet to get them checked out and so far they seem healthy. Oh did I mention I roped my friend in and she came on the car ride with me and she bought my puppies’ sister?
In the past year we almost came home with two different puppies and I am glad we waited. Many people have warned me about the work a puppy entails and I do believe them now so if you are thinking of buying a puppy here is what I have learned and it has only been two days!
It is like a baby – sleeps, poops, drools, and is teething
Resist the cuteness factor – all puppies are cute (mine is adorable) but will you still think they are cute at midnight when they howl?
Some puppies can be expensive but it’s the cost after you get it home that you need to think about as well. Visits to the vet (about $100 first time) cost of food, toys, pet beds, crates, etc can all add up quickly.

Halloween is well over and for us it was postponed until this past Saturday night but we still HAVE ALL THAT CANDY! For me I cannot have candy in the house (yes, I am weak and if a piece of chocolate is staring me in the face I will eat it) unfortunately, for my kids this is true too. I could not toss it all- that would be a waste. So luckily I heard about many local dentists offering to buy the Halloween candy back and they then send it to troops overseas. They also give you toothbrushes as a reward. Sounds good to me!
We headed to local dentist Dr. Fawn Rosenberg of Lexington Smile Studio in Lexington. This is the 9th year the office has participated in the Halloween Candy Buy Back Program.
From Nov. 1 to 20, kids can go to the Lexington Smile Studio at 922 Waltham Street to have their candy weighed and traded for cash ($1 per pound of candy) . The candy is boxed up and trucked to Hanscom Air Force Base, to be distributed to troops serving overseas.
But would my kids go for it? Just look at the picture – they did!

Even though we got our power back after the freak Halloween snow storm in New England, it was still a traumatizing event for us adults. We were still talking about it today on 980 WCAP-AM!
