The music, the costumes, the leaps and magic – it’s the Boston Ballet’s performance of the Nutcracker!
The Nutcracker was Mikko Nissinen and Robert Perdziola’s first collaboration for Boston Ballet and it was just as magical as I remembered. A long time ago my parents took me as a child and I remember getting dressed up and being so excited. That same excitement I saw in my 10 year old as we made the trip to The Boston Opera House. It really was a great performance and especially for her as when she was 6 she was a mouse in a local performance of the nutcracker. She never really saw the whole nutcracker performance before and this was her first seeing the Boston Ballet performance.
I would recommend seeing it! Next year I would love to see it right after it opens in November to really get into the holiday spirit. I still always love the battle scene with the mice and of course the sugar plum fairy dance – really every scene was just great.
Performances run through December 31st and tickets are still available!
Disclosure:Â I received two complementary tickets to the show. All opinions in this blog post are my own.
