@NECN TV segment on Halloween Savings

It’s that time of year for all the fun of Halloween shopping. There are ways to save on costumes and candy and we have some tips for you.  We shared them with Peter Howe @NECN for a segment on Money Saving Monday. Costumes are everywhere but the site we love best is buycostumes.com. If you give them your email you can get in on all the savings!

End of summer, first week of school, back to carpool

We had a wonderful last week of vacation to round out the end of summer. 10 days on the beach! EVERY single day was sunny. Can’t beat that.  So it was back to school for us this week and I loved seeing all the first day of school photos on social media! It also started the carpool to sports and not even all sports have started yet for my two! Deep breaths….we will be in a routine in no time. I hope we get to get a breather this weekend and enjoy the summer weather, as remember summer technically is not over yet, so enjoy!

@NeRevolution Soccer – See a game!

What is the best thing to do on a nice summer night? Watch a soccer game! We had the opportunity to head to Gillette to watch the New England Revolution match! My teen has been playing soccer since kindergarten and my 10 year old has as well. We love soccer. It was quite an experience to head to Gillette stadium if you have never been and the fan excitement over soccer when you arrive is so much fun to see. We were lucky to have VIP Field Passes to watch the warm-ups up close and then we headed to the East Club premium seats which was quite nice. We each received our @Krowe201 bobble head! My kids love to collect bobble heads of athletes. Food and snacks were everywhere so you can enjoy beverages, dinner and even ice cream. There was an ice cream sundae making station as well as a nacho station in the Club! This is the best way to enjoy the game with the kids.  Overall it was a great experience and a fun time!

Disclosure: We were treated to VIP field passes and tickets to the game (and of course received the cute bobble head) All views in this post are my own.

Announcing End of Summer #RedSoxFamily Ticket Packages @RedSox #RedSoxMoms

What a fun night with my girls at the Red Sox game. Have you been lately? It’s not too late to enjoy a night out and to purchase tickets. It really is the best way to spend a warm summer evening. Plus, I noticed there are so many family friendly activities to do while you are at the game. The Kid Nation Clubhouse is a space inside Fenway Park designed for the youngest fans! This kid-friendly area is open to children of all ages and their families, as a place to relax and includes fun activities for the kids. The Kid Nation Clubhouse is located in the Champions Club (by Gate B) from the third through seventh innings of select Red Sox games. The fun activities include face painting, games, Caricature Artist, balloon making and more and of course a visit from Wally!

We were invited as part of a special event to take part in a commercial for the end of Summer Family Ticket Packages. Here is a link to the details and how to purchase tickets! https://www.redsox.com/familypack

Ticket packages available for games Aug 14-Aug 22 (different price points available based on seat locations)Purchase tickets through the link above and with these tickets you will receive:

o FREE parking in the Prudential Center Garage (not too far to walk!)

o FREE Boston Duck Tours ride from the garage to Fenway Park (this is the fun part for the little kids…oh and the big kids too – I loved it!

o Activity booklets for the kids (keeps them busy IF they get bored!)

o Free Duck Boat ride back to parking lot (how cool is that?)

A family friendly ball game, fun activities, good food (Tasty Burger is right inside the park now!) what’s not to love?

Disclosure: The Red Sox treated us to a fun evening of a duck boat ride and tickets to the game! All opinions are my own.

It’s Back: Yoga at Fenway June 8 #FenwaYoga #RedSoxMoms @RedSoxFund

We all love baseball and Fenway Park (and especially attending games!) But if you are looking for something unique and fun to do at Fenway that also raises money for a good cause attend Yoga at Fenway! The Red Sox Foundation is holding its second annual yoga sessions at Fenway Park on Sunday, June 8th. You can register for $25 at fenwayoga.com and each participant must raise a minimum of $250 for the foundation. #FenwaYoga will raise funds for two of the foundation’s cornerstone programs, the Red Sox Scholars Program and the RBI Youth Baseball and Softball Programs.

There will be two classes along the warning track and will be taught by celebrity yoga instructor Mandy Ingber, creator of Yogalosophy. The two morning classes will take place at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. and are geared towards all levels of experience.

I was invited along with a group of bloggers to attend an exclusive preview of #FenwaYoga for the #Red Sox Moms Club and what an experience! We all had so much fun and it was a great workout in the best of venues! I think you can tell we had a good time from these great photos.

You can find out more information on the event here  AND Especially for trendymommies readers: use promo code REDSOXMOM to receive $10 off the registration fee.

School Vacation Week #Staycation

In this day of social media it’s hard not to look at Facebook with everyone’s photos in Florida and be a bit sad not to be enjoying a vacation in a warmer climate. But as long as you keep your kids busy and plan out something each day during school vacation week, it can be a good time!  OK, not as good as a Disney vacation, but still we had a good week. Included in this week’s activities were multiple trips to Starbucks, eating out and sleepovers. See the rest of the list below and try not to be jealous. Lol!

Monday – Enjoyed the Patriot’s Day Parade in Lexington (along with popcorn, slushies, Orange Leaf, etc.) Treats and a parade makes a good day!

Tuesday – ME – numerous conference calls and then a late afternoon trip to the beach!  Beach pizza, arcade, prizes, DQ! At least it was sunny there.

Wednesday – Kids got to meet the New England Patriot Players and did a session with the Patriots Cheerleaders. Yes, that is my 9 year old at the top of the pyramid.

Thursday – Kids had friends over; tried to hold a lemonade stand but the money, cups and stand blew away; kids had friends sleepover. Friends can help with keeping kids from fighting with each other and it allows you time to work a bit!

Friday – lemonade stand makes $3.00 but a trip to visit to Tasty Burger in Boston  is the ultimate reward.  Mom on the other hand gets no burger and has to work 🙁

Weekend is filled with soccer and lacrosse games and it’s back to school!

Easter is almost here! Each year I try to come up with fun, less sugary items to put in the Easter baskets, but it’s not easy. One chocolate bunny and some fun items and of course the kids remember the little stuffed animals so I had to add them in there too. I try not to go overboard with the sweets because as we all know (or should) the holiday isn’t about the gifts right?  How did I do (see photo) cute right? What fun items do you include in your Easter baskets for the kids?
