#Networking #Hosted with @KimMilesinHeels #SecondChapterSisterhood

Networking is not a dirty word…As we get older sometimes it is hard to network and the younger generation does not seem to know how to approach, network and help! One local organization is changing the way to network especially if you are a women looking for a career change or maybe returning to work after years at home.
The Second Chapter Sisterhood  is a community of like-minded women who gather in a casual, social setting to inquire and inspire, and help each other over the barriers between themselves and their goals. This is a unique networking and skill-building series for women in transition (whether it be for a job change, career change, or life change – are you kids heading to college soon?) The way it is designed it to both elevate the spirit and educate the mind.

I attended the Lexington event this week at the Inn at Hasting Park  and finally got to meet the lovely Kim Miles  in person (we met on twitter!) She has the best energy and after attending one of her networking events you will have the motivation to do anything! There is usually a guest speaker at the event and at this particular session it was Kim Meninger, an ICF-certified executive coach with a proven track record of success in the high-tech industry. Her talk was the No More Negative Self Talk: Tackling The Imposter Syndrome. Informative and educational (you know as women we can struggle with self-confidence at times!) we got to meet in pairs to learn from each other’s experience. What I liked most is when you first arrived everyone was welcoming and event after the event a few of us stayed to network a bit more.

Join the sisterhood to experience the “mix, mingle and mastermind” networking events which are usually 4 times a year and can include brainstorming, life/work balance topics, style sessions, branding and linked in insights.

More information can be found here

The next two meetings take place in the September/October timeframe and I will update you all on dates and locations. For those of you who live closer to the South Shore, there is a Sisterhood Chapter in Hingham as well!

Disclosure: I received a free ticket to the networking event. All opinions in this blog post are my own

Calling All Kids @redsox – get your free tickets #redsoxmoms

There is some exciting kids & family initiatives for the Red Sox season at Fenway Park! On the top of the list is of course free tickets for kids & student discount tickets. Entry-level membership in Red Sox Kid Nation (children 14 and under) will be free, and every child in the program can attend a game for free. You can begin signing up for the membership and free tickets HERE.

New this year for the first time, the club will offer a virtual reality experience at Fenway Park through a series of 360 videos that give exclusive, all-access views of what it’s like to be a Red Sox player during the 2016 season. Very cool! The virtual reality stations will be available to kids in Wally’s Clubhouse and to all fans in the Kids Concourse and the videos will also be available to fans online too.

Coming to a neighborhood near you debuting the week of May 9th – Be on the lookout for the Red Sox Mobile Truck. The Red Sox will take Fenway Park on the road with a new mobile truck that will bring the ballpark experience to communities throughout New England. The Red Sox Mobile Experience presented by T-Mobile features a 15-foot truck with panels that move to remake the Green Monster wall. The truck will carry a batting cage, virtual reality dugout, and pitching stations to dozens of cities and towns during the 2016 season.

If you have been to a game  you know the little ones can take a break at Wally’s Clubhouse. A few, fun new things this year include:

  • A rolling mobile exhibit will feature a miniature fiberglass version of Pesky’s Pole that youngsters can sign with a dry erase marker, a piece of the padded field wall that lines the infield and outfield, and various compartments with objects for them to feel, such as a deconstructed baseball and Fenway Park dirt.
  • Miniature lockers staged to look just like the ones in the Red Sox clubhouse will be installed in Wally’s Clubhouse, and an oversized trunk filled with authentic Red Sox jerseys, cleats, and batting gloves will be available for kids to play dress up!
  • The Red Sox will also host a comprehensive clinic later in the season for kids who want to learn how to score the game.
  • At the end of Spring Training, Tessie the Green Monster (Wally’s sister) will take her place in the Kids Concourse where she will be a permanent staple before and during Red Sox home games throughout the season.

Disclosure: I am part of the Red Sox Moms initiatives and as such was treated to a luncheon and goody bag and got to hear all about the great venues that the Red Sox and Fenway Park has to offer.

Be there for @BostonBizWomen #bostonbusinesswomen #innovationconference May 9th at the @WestinCopleyPl

There are a lot of networking and conference events for women and while I try to attend as many as I can as a busy entrepreneur and mom my time does not allow me to attend them all. The Boston Business Women Innovation Conference is one I cannot miss. The inaugural Boston Business Women Innovation Conference is a conference developed by the group Boston Business Women and will take place May 9, 2016 at the Westin Copley Plaza Hotel in Boston.

Arianna Huffington, president and editor in chief of The Huffington Post is the keynote speaker and the event will be emceed by Emmy award-winning producer and television personality, Jenny Johnson. The founders of Boston Business Women (which is a group I highly recommend you join) was founded by Kristina Tsipouras and Megan Marini.

Here’s a link to the schedule, as well as a link to purchase tickets here.

The Boston Business Women Innovation Conference will cover several topics, including money mindset, the secrets of success, personal branding and how to master work-life balance – I need this one for sure! I cannot wait to network and meet other like-minded business women.

Disclosure: I was invited to attend and given a free ticket. All opinions in this blog post are my own.

Fa, La, La, La, La….to @CVS_Extra #Sponsored #CVSMeetUps

It’s down to the wire….Christmas is almost here so hopefully you don’t have a lot of running around left to do. One of my favorite retailers – CVS -is my go to stop when I need any extras to get ready this holiday season. Actually it’s my stop when I need ANYTHING. I have done food shopping at my local CVS – to pick up a few things  – and you may have noticed at your local CVS all the different choices in store. What great fun it was today to take a field trip to CVS to hear from representatives  about what is new in store.

For the #CVSMeetUps a group of bloggers got together to see the better bites, better selection and an even better grab and go part of one of their bigger stores. We walked some of the isles to see new products. I love the radiance platinum line of supplements  now. There was a sample in the gift bag they gave us and I tried it right away.  This line is certified organic and non-gmo as well. The allergy solution isle now has clearly marked signs to help you pick the best option for allergy season and in the beauty isle they have multiple organic lines to choose from including their own Organic Promise, my fav line Say Yes, Alba, Jason and more! Also new is the addition of premier brands for beauty including Jouviance and Wilma Schumann.

Back to your last minute holiday shopping…..What I love about CVS is that it is a great one-stop-shop. CVS provided me with a gift card to pick up some stocking stuffers and some items for the holiday season. They have the best selection of holiday decor (lights are on sale this week!), the best travel item section (great for stocking stuffers), your every day items like detergent, tissues and I needed a frame and batteries for holiday gifts and they have those items as well. I have frequented there many times for milk and bread and of course for birthday party needs like cards, gift bags and balloons. Their candy selection is extensive as well. Plus you can shop online too if you cannot get out to a local store. So think CVS for all your holiday shopping needs this season!

Disclosure: CVS sent me a gift card, presented us with a gift bag with goodies and treated us to lunch today. As always all opinions in this blog post are my own.

Celebrate the season with a stay @GreatWolfLodge #gwlhowlidays #snowland #GWLNE #travel #hosted

The holiday season is a great time to visit Great Wolf Lodge in Fitchburg as snowland is the theme of this massive indoor waterpark destination! From November 28 through January 3, Great Wolf Lodge transforms into a magical winter wonderland. My family and I spent an overnight at the lodge and was welcomed with wonderful holiday décor and fun activities. Santa was on hand to hear all the kids wishes and we even got to stay in the Snowland Suites. Our room had a Christmas tree and lights were everywhere. There were decorations of snowflakes hanging from the ceiling and I loved the extra touch of how they wrapped all the pictures in the room. It really was a nice way to get into the holiday spirit. We also got to take home with us a commemorative Snowland throw and a copy of the winter story book, Unique as a Snowflake – add to that a delivery of milk and cookies at the end of the night by a special Great Wolf Kids™ character and the extras really make this a unique get-a-way unlike any other. It really is more than an indoor water park. For the younger kids there is story time, forest friends show and more. The Howlin timbers play park which offers Howl at the Moon Mini Golf, Ten Paw Alley, the Frog Hopper amusement ride and the Howlers Peak Ropes Course. So mom if you are weary of the twisty water rides take a visit with your kids to the ropes coursein the play park or have the kids visit the scooops spa! Click here for a list of all the attractions.

The Great Wolf Lodge is a fun, close get-a-way this holiday season with lots to do for kids of all ages. We stayed onsite to enjoy a dinner at the Lodge Wood Fired Grill and it was great. I got the buffet which was mostly a Mexican theme and it was really good. Kids loved their meals as well, but there are so many food options to choose from. There is also a Dunkin Donuts onsite. As my kids are on the older side the two best slides, according to both of them, are the wolf’s tale and howlin tornado. The wolf tale is super fast and daring! You step into this launch pod – according to the description on the web site – and the floor drops out from under you, and you’re hurled into a nearly vertical, 20-foot free fall, followed immediately by a 360-degree, high-speed loop! Everyone in my family did it. I did not this visit but have in the past and I cannot believe I did it! It is unlike any water ride I have been on. And the howlin tornado, well  this ride is built for four and has lots of tilting twists and turns! We went on this together several times and the drop was unbelievable.

We also received paw passes which allowed us to receive free games, tattoos, create your own stuffed animal and more. There is also lots of gift shops too! Check out the web site for their latest deals and fun!

Disclosure: I was able to stay overnight at a discounted media rate and received complementary paw passes. All opinions are my own in this post.
