Eco-Friendly Holiday cards? Plant a tree with every order @paperculture #sponsored #designfortrees

It is that time of year when families across the country try to figure out their holiday photo cards! This year I was on the early side of picking out the photos and thanks to Paper Culture my holiday photo cards are printed and have arrived. If you are going to create holiday photo cards why not choose an eco-friendly company to do it. Paper Culture’s mission is not only to deliver modern eco stationery to celebrate life events but to plant a tree with every order! You can even say who you would like to plant it in honor of.

Paper Culture offers personalized invitations, stationery, holiday cards, and wall art on eco-friendly materials. Paper Culture is an eco, sustainable business meaning all their cards will not cut down any new trees. The cards use exclusively 100% post-consumer recycled paper or alternative non-tree fibers. They even have an eco-friendly reversible box. The reversible box is made from recycled cardboard and printed with eco-friendly water-based inks and the best thing is that you can reuse it!

There are a ton of styles of holiday cards to choose from too. They have free designer assistance, they will mail the cards for you and free return and recipient address printing as well. Their customer service is excellent – any problems – just  call them – so many companies don’t even have a customer service number! I was very pleased with my order and would highly recommend them for holiday cards.

Disclosure: Paper Culture offered me a $50 discount. As always all opinions in this blog post are my own.

Beautiful holiday photo cards from @paperculture! Don't want to spoil the photo part -but the front side came out awesome.

A new kind of protective smart phone case @LoopyCases #StoptheDrop #ad

I have a drawer full of iphone cases. Each time I buy one I think…this is it…this is the case that I will love and it will protect my phone and be awesome. So really that is not the case for most cases!  That is why I was so glad loopy cases sent me a phone case to test out and review. It is so unlike any other protective phone case ever.

How many times has your phone slipped out of your hands?  Thanks to loopy cases that will not happen again. You’re in the loop with this very functional case which allows you to reach your entire screen, carry multiple items at once and you can even run with your phone in your hand without worrying about it dropping. There is a loop attached to the case that you slip your finger through….how creative! The loop even acts as a kickstand to watch videos and movies. It comes in many different colors and there is no bulk – for both iphones and Samsung devices.

This new case design all came about as a simple way to protect your phone – by not dropping it in the first place. The company calls it pro-active protection. I think it’s a great idea and love it. One handed use at its best – perfect for those on the go, hurrying around – hello moms -  this is your new favorite case.

You have to try it for yourself.  Trendymommies.com readers use code SHAREME for 15% off.

Saving on Birthday Party Gifts – top 5 list

Each school year the girls are invited to a ton of birthday parties!  What do families with many children do? What are the cost effective ways to save on Birthday party gifts?  Annmarie sat down with New England Cable News to talk about this topic!

Here are the top 5 ways to save and gift ideas from trendymommies.com.

1.  Make a plan each September -  write down your birthday gift needs and start shopping – look for buy one get one free toys, stock up on board games – all ages love a good board or card game (hello apples to apples). Board games are also usually on sale around Christmas time so stock up on multiple games then. You can even buy a smaller card game and add a gift card to the gift bag.

2.  Think seasonal – buy fun summer items at the end of the season and gift them for winter birthdays. A nice tote bag filled with sunglasses, a towel and a t shirt is a nice way to remember summer.

3.  Use your retail reward cards for savings – we love CVS and their extra care program – collect and save your extra bucks – it’s money to buy gifts!  CVS is a one stop shop for kids gifts 10 dollars and 5 dollars and under and for small toys, hair accessories, candy, cards and art supplies.

4.  Buy art supplies in bulk – cute note books, personalized note cards and a nice pencil set coupled with a gift card makes a nice gift. Discount retailers have note books in multiples so divide up and package nicely. Use the tote bags at Michael’s crafts for the packaging of the gift!  Kids can decorate it themselves!

5.  Save on tissue paper and gift bags – you can reuse gift bags and buy tissue paper at the dollar store. Stock up and save on these items so you have them and are not running around at the last minute and spending 5 dollars on a gift bag and tissue!

Happy Shopping!

Travel goals #travelgoals

It’s September and that means back to school, routine and chaos! I am sure many of you are not even thinking about a vacation or traveling! However as parents we run around a lot with our kids and sometimes taking time off and planning a vacation is not always easy. BUT even if it’s a day trip, a quick visit to another city or a full blown trip around the world, getting away can be fun! We do love our weekend day trips to Boston and each year I map out where I would like to go on vacation. This year the kids want to go back to Florida (it is nice when you have friends you can stay with) as well as take a trip to San Francisco. Of course on my list is to take a trip to Italy and France! What are your travel goals this year?

@SheaMoisture beauty products A review: #amillionwaystoshea

I like safe and effective beauty products and test out a lot of products. I love the Shea Moisture line and the company history is interesting, the products smell great and they work. Plus they are a natural, organic and a sustainably-produced line. Not all products can say that!  AND 10 % Of the Shea Moisture community commerce sales go to women-led business to support local communities where the ingredients come from.

Their web site says they strive to be sulfate free, paraben free and are tested on people not animals. The products in the Shea Moisture line use some pretty unique ingredients gathered from around the world and the background of this beauty line is interesting. Sofi Tucker started selling Shea Nuts at the village market in Bonthe, Sierra Leone in 1912. By age 19, the widowed mother of four was selling Shea Butter, African Black Soap and her homemade hair and skin preparations all over the countryside. This legacy continues today. Here are a few of the items I tested out.

The SheaMoisture Fruit Fusion Coconut Water Collection smells so good! The shampoo and conditioner is enriched with Fruit Infused Coconut Water, Imbe Oil and Certified organic Shea Butter (that is ethically sourced from seven women’s co-ops in Northern Ghana) A nice weightless formulation that gives a bit of boost to my hair!

The 10-in-1 Renewal System is great for older hair (lol…ok moms in their 30’s and 40’s!) The antioxidant-rich collection helps to perfect and renew vibrancy to dull, lackluster hair. I use this as a special treat for my hair. It is sulfate-free has anti-aging benefits (no more frizz), color protection and your hair is super soft!

I love the bars of soap and body lotion too. The superfruit organic complex bar soap has Shea and Mango Butter and the superfruit complex of Raspberry Ketone, Goji, Acai and Guava extracts to nourish skin. I do notice when I use this that my skin is much smoother and it also lathers very well. Check out all their products as they have something for everyone. In fact they have a new web app #amillionwaystoshea in which you can upload a photo and answer some questions on which product is best for you!

Disclosure: Shea Moisture sent me the items above to test out and review. All opinions in this blog post are my own.
